A hearty and comforting Beef Noodle Casserole featuring tender ground beef, egg noodles, and a creamy cheese sauce baked to perfection—perfect for a family dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz egg noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme (optional)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic; sauté until softened, about 3 minutes.
  4. Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
  5. Stir in cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, milk, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined and heated through.
  6. Combine the cooked noodles with the beef mixture, mixing gently to coat noodles evenly.
  7. Transfer mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese and Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
  8. Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes, until cheese is melted and casserole is bubbly.
  9. Remove from oven and let sit for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add sautéed mushrooms or a dash of smoked paprika before baking. Serve with a fresh green salad for a balanced meal.
