Classic Broccoli Cheese Casserole

This classic Broccoli Cheese Casserole is a comforting and easy-to-make side dish. Loaded with tender broccoli and a rich, cheesy sauce, it’s perfect for family dinners or holiday gatherings.

  • 1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped broccoli, thawed and drained
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup buttered bread crumbs (optional topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the drained broccoli, cream of mushroom soup, cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, chopped onion, and lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. If desired, sprinkle the buttered bread crumbs over the top of the casserole.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
  6. Let stand for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For a creamier casserole, use cream of cheddar soup instead of cream of mushroom. You can also add a dash of hot sauce for a little kick.
