  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 4 green cardamom pods, crushed
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 1 star anise
  • 1-inch piece of fresh ginger, sliced

  • 2 tablespoons honey or sugar, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, bring water, cinnamon stick, cardamom, cloves, star anise, and ginger to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes to infuse the spices.
  3. Add the black tea bags and simmer for another 3 minutes.
  4. Remove tea bags and strain the spiced tea mixture into a clean pot.
  5. Add milk and honey, then gently heat until steaming but not boiling.
  6. Whisk the chai tea latte to create a frothy texture, or use a milk frother if available.
  7. Pour into mugs and serve hot.

Notes

For a vegan version, substitute dairy milk with almond or oat milk, and use maple syrup instead of honey.
