Spicy and cheesy, these Cheddar Jalapeño Burgers combine juicy beef patties with melted cheddar and fresh jalapeños for a flavorful, kick-packed meal perfect for any burger lover.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 jalapeños, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Lettuce leaves, for serving
  • Tomato slices, for serving
  • Optional: mayonnaise or your favorite burger sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix gently to combine without overworking the meat.
  3. Form the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties.
  4. Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4 minutes per side for medium doneness.
  5. During the last minute of cooking, sprinkle a generous amount of shredded cheddar cheese onto each patty and add a few jalapeño slices on top.
  6. Cover the grill or skillet briefly to melt the cheese.
  7. Toast hamburger buns lightly on the grill.
  8. Assemble burgers by placing the patties on the buns, then topping with lettuce, tomato slices, and optional sauce.
  9. Serve immediately and enjoy the spicy, cheesy flavor.

Notes

For a milder burger, remove the jalapeño seeds before slicing. You can also add avocado slices for a creamy contrast.
