A Delicious Chicken Parmesan Grilled Cheese Sandwich

This Chicken Parmesan Grilled Cheese takes a classic Italian comfort food and turns it into a melty, cheesy sandwich. It’s the perfect quick and easy lunch or dinner!

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup marinara sauce
  • 1/4 cup cooked chicken, breaded and diced (either homemade or store-bought chicken parmesan)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  2. Place one slice of bread, butter-side down, in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  3. Top with half of the mozzarella cheese, then the marinara sauce, and the diced chicken parmesan.
  4. Sprinkle with a little grated Parmesan cheese.
  5. Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese and the other slice of bread, butter-side up.
  6. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted and gooey.
  7. Remove from skillet and let cool slightly before slicing in half and serving.

Notes

For an extra crispy grilled cheese, spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on the outside of the bread instead of butter.
