This moist and flavorful chocolate chip banana bread combines ripe bananas with rich chocolate chips, perfect for a comforting snack or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  3. Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
  4. Add sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  5. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture, then stir to combine.
  6. Gently fold in the all-purpose flour until just incorporated.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips, reserving a few for topping if desired.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle remaining chocolate chips on top.
  9. Bake for 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

For added texture, try adding chopped walnuts or pecans. Serve warm with a spread of butter or cream cheese for extra indulgence.
