This Creamy Garlic Shrimp is a quick and easy dinner that’s ready in under 30 minutes! Tender shrimp are bathed in a rich, garlicky cream sauce, perfect served over pasta or rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine (or chicken broth)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Cooked pasta or rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until pink and cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 1 minute, or until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the white wine (or chicken broth) and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes, or until the wine has reduced slightly.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, parsley, and red pepper flakes (if using). Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until it has thickened slightly.
  7. Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce.
  8. Serve immediately over cooked pasta or rice.

Notes

Serve with a side of crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
