Creamy Mushroom Toast on Rustic Bread

This Creamy Mushroom Toast is a simple yet elegant dish, perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a light lunch. Sautéed mushrooms are simmered in a creamy sauce and served atop perfectly toasted bread for a flavorful and satisfying experience.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 8 ounces mixed mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine (optional)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices of your favorite bread, toasted
  • Optional: Grated Parmesan cheese, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until softened and browned, about 8-10 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. If using, pour in the white wine and let it simmer for a minute to reduce slightly.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream, parsley, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for a few minutes until the sauce has thickened slightly.
  6. Spoon the creamy mushroom mixture over the toasted bread slices.
  7. Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

For an extra layer of flavor, try adding a sprinkle of truffle oil or a dash of hot sauce to the finished toast.
