These Garlic-Parmesan Cottage Cheese Bagels combine creamy cottage cheese with savory garlic and Parmesan for a flavorful and satisfying breakfast or snack option.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for brushing)
  • Sesame seeds or additional Parmesan for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the cottage cheese, eggs, minced garlic, and shredded Parmesan cheese until well blended.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until a dough forms.
  5. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently for about 2 minutes until smooth.
  6. Divide the dough into 6 equal portions and shape each into a bagel by forming a ball and poking a hole through the center with your finger, then stretch to form a ring.
  7. Place the bagels on the prepared baking sheet and brush them lightly with olive oil.
  8. Optionally, sprinkle sesame seeds or extra Parmesan on top.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  10. Remove from the oven and cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For an extra kick, add some chopped fresh herbs like chives or parsley to the dough before baking.
