Greek Turkey Meatballs with Tzatziki Sauce

Homemade Greek Turkey Meatballs

These flavorful Greek turkey meatballs are a healthy and delicious twist on a classic! Served with creamy homemade tzatziki sauce, they’re perfect as an appetizer or a light meal.

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

For the Tzatziki Sauce:

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup grated cucumber, squeezed dry
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, red onion, parsley, garlic, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix well until just combined.
  3. Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  4. Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat.
  5. Brown the meatballs on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through.
  7. While the meatballs are baking, prepare the tzatziki sauce. In a medium bowl, combine Greek yogurt, cucumber, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, dill, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  8. Serve the turkey meatballs warm with tzatziki sauce.

Notes

Serve these meatballs with pita bread, a Greek salad, or rice for a complete meal. You can also grill the meatballs instead of baking them.
