  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, cocoa powder, and salt.
  3. Stir in vanilla extract, then add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Gradually add flour and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Stir in chocolate chips, if desired.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
