Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter, for brushing

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, brown sugar, pumpkin puree, milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Transfer the batter to a piping bag or a zip-top bag. Cut off the tip of the bag.
  6. Pipe the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the donuts cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
  9. While the donuts are cooling, prepare the cinnamon sugar coating. In a small bowl, combine granulated sugar and cinnamon.
  10. Brush each donut with melted butter and then dip it into the cinnamon sugar mixture, coating all sides.
  11. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For an extra touch, drizzle the donuts with a simple glaze made from powdered sugar and milk.
