Delicious Homemade Spaghetti Squash Dinner

  • 1 medium spaghetti squash
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup cooked ground beef or Italian sausage (optional)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Cut the spaghetti squash in half lengthwise and scoop out the seeds.
  2. Drizzle the cut sides with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  3. Place the squash cut-side down on a baking sheet and bake for 40-50 minutes, or until the squash is easily pierced with a fork.
  4. Let the squash cool slightly, then use a fork to scrape the flesh into spaghetti-like strands.
  5. Top with marinara sauce, cooked ground beef or sausage (if using), and Parmesan cheese.
  6. Garnish with fresh basil leaves and serve immediately.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, skip the meat and add roasted vegetables like mushrooms, bell peppers, and onions. You can also use different types of cheese, such as mozzarella or ricotta.
