  • 4 whole cloves
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 2 star anise pods (optional)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (adjust to taste)

  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Pour the apple cider into a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add cinnamon sticks, cloves, orange slices, star anise, allspice berries, and ground nutmeg.
  3. Stir in brown sugar until dissolved.
  4. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, then reduce heat to low.
  5. Let cider simmer for 20-30 minutes, allowing spices to infuse the flavor.
  6. Strain cider to remove spices and orange slices before serving.
