These Spicy Jalapeno Popper Twists are a fun and delicious appetizer or snack! Flaky puff pastry is filled with a creamy, cheesy, and spicy jalapeno mixture, then twisted and baked to golden perfection.

  • 1 sheet (14.1 oz) puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/4 cup pickled jalapenos, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon jalapeno juice from the jar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Everything bagel seasoning, for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, chopped jalapenos, jalapeno juice, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and salt. Mix until well combined.
  3. Unfold the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface.
  4. Spread the cheese mixture evenly over the puff pastry.
  5. Cut the puff pastry into 1-inch wide strips.
  6. Twist each strip several times and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Brush each twist with the beaten egg.
  8. Sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning, if desired.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve these twists warm with a side of ranch dressing or sour cream for dipping. For extra spice, use hotter pickled jalapenos or add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the cheese mixture.
