  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 48 strawberry-flavored Hershey’s Kisses

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually blend dry ingredients into the butter mixture until just combined.
  6. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place them 2 inches apart on the baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until edges are lightly golden.
  8. Immediately press one strawberry Kiss into the center of each cookie; the cookie will crack slightly around the edges.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For an extra burst of strawberry flavor, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking or sprinkle sugar on top before baking for added sparkle.
