This Turkey Burger Chili is a hearty, flavorful twist on classic chili, using ground turkey burgers for a leaner, protein-packed meal. Perfect for a cozy dinner or game day gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground turkey burger meat
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped green onions, jalapeños

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Add minced garlic and cook for another 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add ground turkey burger meat to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 6-8 minutes.
  4. Stir in chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute to toast the spices.
  5. Add diced tomatoes, tomato paste, kidney beans, black beans, and chicken broth. Stir to combine.
  6. Bring the chili to a simmer, reduce heat to low, and cover. Cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed. Serve hot with your favorite toppings.

Notes

For extra depth, let the chili simmer longer to enhance the flavors, or serve with cornbread for a hearty meal.
