White Pizza

Freshly prepared white pizza on clean counter

White Pizza is a delicious, creamy alternative to traditional tomato-based pizzas, featuring a blend of ricotta, mozzarella, and garlic on a crispy crust. Perfect for those seeking a rich and savory Italian-style pizza experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat.
  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  3. Transfer the dough to a pizza peel or baking sheet lightly dusted with flour or cornmeal.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the ricotta cheese, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes if using.
  5. Spread the ricotta mixture evenly over the pizza dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  6. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan evenly over the ricotta layer.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling and slightly browned.
  8. Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh basil leaves before slicing and serving.

Notes

For added flavor, drizzle a little truffle oil over the pizza just before serving or add sautéed spinach or mushrooms as optional toppings.
